Trackside Model Railroading is a publisher for model train enthusiasts who want to enjoy layout tours in depth. The digital magazine is advertisement-free and covers two layouts each month. We feature layouts of all the fine scales with lots of full-page photos, articles about the railroads, and short videos.
Our DVD and Blu-ray movies feature much more video of the layouts and often include interviews, operations, and creative backstories and railroad history.

What’s in the magazine this month?
Learn about operations on Joe Green’s HO scale model railroad called the Chesapeake & Ohio Ryder Gap Subdivision. We toured this same what-if layout last month, focusing on planning, construction, and scenery. This month’s feature focuses on the layout’s operations and includes an onsite interview with Joe. He models a few large industries: a sawmill, a pulp and paper mill, and a chemical plant. The layout is based in Virginia and West Virginia in 1974. You’ll enjoy seeing Joe’s work and learning about how the railroad operates.
